THe oak ring
When they became official on August 15, 2015, we honor the 15s in their relationship by setting 15 diamonds on each shoulder of her ring. After the last diamond is a flower from the club Zinda in Raleigh, NC, where they have many memories in the beginning of their relationship. The prongs are inspired by an oak leaf, highlighting where she is from in Raleigh, North Carolina – the City of Oaks. This weaves ”home” into her ring, as well as where they met. Set on the inside of her engagement ring is white diamond for when they first met and a yellow topaz for when he proposed. The gemstones frame the inscription “you’re my significant” with an image of an otter. This mirrors two Valentine’s Day cards they had exchanged to each other. The inscription is in his handwriting.
