The prongs are inspired by a prominent building from her hometown, celebrating her culture and where she was born. There are a total of thirty-two diamonds set on the band, representing the number of months they dated long distance. This celebrates how far they have come together and their strength as a couple. Hand-carved after the final diamond is a pattern found from the UC Berkeley arch, highlighting where they first met. Set on the inside of the ring is a pink tourmaline for their October anniversary and a white diamond for April when they moved in together. The gemstones frame the words "my best friend" in his handwriting, taken directly from a love letter he wrote to her years ago. Also hand-carved inside the band are two tiny symbols celebrating their pet names. Finally, set on the side profile is a yellow gemstone for November 2018 when he proposed.
